Introduction: Asking for Your Suggestions
What do you want to see?
I think this is probably the best way to start the new year, by asking all of you what kinds of new content you would like to see. Everything is on the table, and I will get us started by lightly pitching a few ideas in the following sections. Please keep in mind that I am actually very involved in running the operational services we started offering last year, and am still the only executive consultant, so bandwidth is limited. There are, however, new people to help me actually develop and produce new content.
Note: I never hire ghostwriters and none of the ideas will be AI generated.
Video Content
Video is a format that a few of you have really encouraged and here are a few ideas I have around that to start in 2025:
I occassionally go on a podcast or do a talk at a conference, which can provide some additional content for social media by slicing it up into smaller pieces.
We could collect questions from the community and answer some of them through video shorts, possibly with some visual aids when helpful.
I would like to invite paying members to a group call once a trimester to have an AMA and perhaps share some recent lessons learned (if people are interested).
Written Content
This is where things got started and we will keep up with the weekly newsletter, but here are a few more things that I am hoping to get out this year:
A book - about 70% completed already. It’s a weird mix between autobiography, philosophy, personal development, professional development, mental tools, historical anecdotes, and sailing.
Experimentation with the Newsletter and Social Media - publishing more frequently, and intentionally planning out different content blocks - very open to suggestions here.
Management Course: An Introduction to the RPG System (Name is WIP) I Created and My Practical Philosophy of People Management
I am thinking about giving away the foundational documentation for free, and the subsequent Q&A videos as well. For monetization, I was considering asking for donations through Patreon or some other platform, and then charging reasonable fees to any organization that wanted to adopt the management philosophy into their own systems. This is more a passion project than anything else, but I really want to make a difference with it, so I’m not sure if there’s any other route to go other than making it free and then selling the consulting services for organizations who would like our help making it actually work. I need to eat too.

I will answer your question with a question: what are most of your subscribers looking for? If they signed up for this newsletter, it means they likely want to be part of the change, yet we see little change in the industry. What are the things most likely to stop them and how can you help them removing obstacles, so that change has more chances to take effect?
